Hi @Babs176,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Deskjet 4100e printer is not printing magenta, there are a few possible causes and solutions.

  • Check the ink cartridges: Make sure the magenta ink cartridge is not empty or clogged. Try replacing the magenta cartridge with a new one to see if that resolves the issue.
  • Clean the printhead: Over time, the printhead may become clogged with dried ink, which can prevent ink from flowing properly. Try cleaning the printhead using the printer's built-in cleaning utility or manually cleaning it with a soft, lint-free cloth and distilled water.
  • Check the settings: Ensure that the printer settings are correctly set to print in color and that the color settings are set to allow magenta ink to be used.
  • Update the printer drivers: Check for updates to the printer drivers, as outdated drivers can cause printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
