Hi @Chico1950,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Officejet 4655 suddenly stopped printing in color even though the cartridges are new and full, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure the color ink cartridges are correctly installed and have sufficient ink levels. You can check the ink levels through the printer software on your computer or directly on the printer's control panel.
- Run Print Quality Diagnostic: Most HP printers have a built-in print quality diagnostic tool. Use this tool to identify and resolve print quality issues. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to run the print quality diagnostic.
- Clean Printhead: Over time, printheads can get clogged, leading to print quality issues. Many HP printers have an option to clean the printhead. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to clean the printhead.
- Align Printhead: Proper alignment ensures accurate color reproduction. Check your printer manual for instructions on how to align the printhead.
- Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.
- Reset Printer: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve minor issues.
- Check Print Settings: Make sure that your print settings are configured correctly. Check that you have selected the color option in the print settings on your computer.
- Try a Different Document/Application: Print a test page or try printing from a different document or application to rule out any software-related issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Got one printer going in color with another new HP color cartridge. The other printer also a 4650 seems to damage any cartridge that gets loaded. I don't know what is happening as there is no odd sound or action to watch or hear. The thing just will not print color. Not too please with the problems with three different HP original 63 color cartridges not working in any of my four 4650 series printers. The only cartridges that worked were refills from third-party vendors. Really getting tired of HP and its constant harang about counterfeits and instant ink. Your stuff is no better than the junk sold on the internet. Next printers for me will be four new Epson printers with ink tanks. HP is a gone item to me.

Nothing helped until I bought two third-party cartridges and installed them. These worked fine even though the four new HP cartridges were junk. All new, all HP, all junk. HP needs to do more quality and less trying to scare the public away from competitors. Just another case of fraudulent sales tactics. HP, go away, from now on , I buy only Epson, four at a time.

Strange days. I finally gave up on the HP color 63 cartridge and used an off-brand (third off-brand) and bingo. One of them decided to start printing color again. It took six different cartridges to get it going again. Still can't get the other one to print color though. Who knows, maybe i'll try another of the off brand that did work.
Thanks to all who replied.

HP Officejet 4655 us is the offended/offender. Really don't know why the little monster quit printing color, any color. Very soon after my othe 4655 decided to go on strike with its sister and also quit the color thing. Finally got that one back after trying seven different brands of cartridge. Amazingly, the one that worked was an on-line, discount refill. Now the little beast works fine again. Still younger sister is a real mystery. Well, I have four of the little monsters, three now with color and one without. I really like the 4650 series as they are the most nearly bulletproof printer I have ever had the pleasure to hate/love. Thank you to Alden4 for your suggestions, still don't know which one worked.
