The printer is showing all print tanks as being 100% full when I can visually see that they are not full. It's been this way since I purchased the printer - it never worked from day one.
Is there some setting I can change to get the printer to report the ink levels to my PC?

Hi @Ronan_Hanrahan ,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the issue of your HP Smart Tank Plus 570 not reporting accurate ink levels to your PC can often be due to software or driver settings, or even a limitation in the printer’s communication with your computer.
Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:
Update HP Smart App and Printer Drivers: HP printer setup (HP Smart app)
- Ensure you have the latest version of the HP Smart app installed, as it often manages ink level reporting. Update the HP Smart app through the Microsoft Store or directly from the HP website.
- Update your printer drivers by downloading the latest drivers for your model from the HP Support website and installing them.
Check HP Smart App Settings:
- Open the HP Smart app on your Windows 11 PC.
- Go to “Settings” within the app and look for any options related to "Ink Levels" or "Supplies Status" to ensure they are enabled.
Reconnect the Printer:
- Try removing the printer from the HP Smart app and your computer's list of connected devices, then add it again.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners and remove the printer. Reconnect by selecting Add a printer or scanner and following the setup process in the HP Smart app.
Firmware Update:Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check for firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes, firmware issues can affect the ink level reporting. You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or download it from HP’s support page.
HP Support Tool: HP Print and Scan Doctor
- Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool, which can help identify and resolve common issues with HP printers, including ink level reporting. You can download it from HP’s support site.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait about a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn the printer back on and check if the ink levels are updated in the app.

Thanks for your reply.
I have checked all the software and drivers and they are all at the latest version. I should also have mentioned that when I check the ink levels on the printer screen it also report them as being 100% full, when I can visually see that they are not full.
The "Printer Status Report" direct from the printer also reports 100% full.
Any other ideas I can try?
