HP ENVY Pro 6422 All-in-One Printer

My Hp envy 6400 just doesn't print the black parts of my document.

Despite trying various troubleshooting steps, including changing cartridges, cleaning the printhead and cartridges, running printer head alignment and smear cleanup, and restarting the printer, my printer is still unable to print in black.
I have already checked the ink levels, ensured the cartridges are properly inserted, verified that the paper is compatible, and checked for firmware updates.

Hi @warbat,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are facing an issue with printing in black on your printer.

Do you have the same issue when you make a copy on the printer standalone? (Place an original document on the scanner glass and make a copy to confirm hardware is working fine)

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:

- Are you having an issue while making a copy as well?

- Do you have an issue only while printing from the device to which your printer is connected?

- May I know which application are you using to print?

- When was the last time your printer was able to print in black?

- Were there any changes made to your printer recently?

- May I know which devices are you using to print eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Take care and have a great day ahead!
