I have a recently purchased Envy 7830, I have been using the in box setup ink cartridges but today the black cartridge is displaying the message " remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge". I replaced the cartridge with a new 303 cartridge which i bought at the time of purchase (from Costco) but it still displays the same message.
I have tried:
1. Re-seat the new cartridge
2.Shutting down for several minutes then powering on the printer
3. Pulling the power lead while powered on, leaving for 5 mins then re-inserting
4. Replacing the old start up cartridge (same error message)
5. Cleaning the contact of the new cartridge
6. Checked for any software updates (it's all up to date)
The HP Smart software indicates that the cartridge is not communicating with the printer. This is with both old and new carts.
Any suggestions?
