Hi @Reda13,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer is displaying an error message stating that the printhead appears to be missing, not detected, or incorrectly installed, you can try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.
- Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve minor glitches. Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check Printhead Installation: Open the printer's access door to access the printhead. Make sure that the printhead is securely and properly installed. You might want to remove it and reseat it to ensure it's correctly in place.
- Clean the Printhead Contacts: Sometimes, the contacts on the printhead or within the printer can become dirty or have residue on them. Turn off the printer and gently clean the contacts on both the printhead and the printer using a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Update Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website. Updating the firmware can often resolve compatibility issues and improve printer functionality.
- Check for Error Codes or Messages: Look for any specific error codes or messages on the printer's display screen. These codes can provide more information about the issue and help you troubleshoot further.
- Check for Obstructions: Make sure there are no obstructions in the printhead carriage path. Sometimes, foreign objects or paper jams can interfere with the printhead's movement.
- Perform a Hard Reset: A hard reset can sometimes clear out persistent issues. To do this, turn off the printer, disconnect the power cord, and hold down the power button for at least 15 seconds. Then, plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
