I have tried everything on the printer to change the setting to cardstock. The only options were: Print on Paper Type: 60-74. My paper cardstock is 49 lbs. It was on Auto, then on 90 as the next choice, but there is no choice for light paper 49 lbs. It is so much better printing on the 60-74 lbs (lowest option for cardstock), but still is carrying some of the black ink to smudge from up above. Before, it would take the entire printed word and reprint as an "oops" like it was re-rolled below. I teach 1st grade and need the quality of the laser printer, but cardstock for durability. I want good quality images for my students, so there is a lot of ink to be printed. I can ONLY print 4 pages at a time before it starts re-rolling the toner for the 2nd print under on top of the new image. Then all images start copying to the next page as well. Is there a different setting I can change on the printer that will change this? There is no option in my print menu on the computer that says, "cardstock." I have to just choose print normal and change the setting on the printer. Please help! I NEED to print on cardstock and don't want to return the printer! I tried using the Insta ink for the ink-jet, prior to this printer, but didn't like the quality, so got the laser. It prints perfect on regular paper (not cardstock).
