Hi @ma145,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've already taken some of the initial troubleshooting steps for your HP Officejet Pro 8025 not printing black ink. Here are a few additional steps you can try.

  • Check Ink Levels: Ensure that the new black ink cartridge is properly installed and has sufficient ink. Sometimes cartridges may appear to be installed correctly but aren't seated properly.
  • Manual Cleaning: If you haven't already, you can try manually cleaning the printhead. Remove the black ink cartridge and clean the printhead with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water. Be gentle to avoid damaging the printhead.
  • Deep Cleaning: Your printer might have an option for deep cleaning or printhead cleaning in the settings menu. Running this process can sometimes resolve clogged printheads or other issues causing the black ink not to print.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes firmware updates include fixes for printing issues.
  • Printer Reset: Try resetting your printer to its default settings. This can sometimes resolve software-related issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
