How do I reset the ink cartridge levels? I have 2 original HP cartridge sets and 1 generic cartridge set. They have all been refilled. The printer will not reset the levels and continues to display the error message no matter which one is inserted.

Hi @nieszhw,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand that you wish to bypass the depleted ink message on your HP Officejet printer.
HP Officejet -All-in-One requires ink in all cartridges, if you're receiving a depleted ink message you will not be able to bypass this message. In addition, allowing the ink to completely deplete can cause harm to the printhead, as air can get trapped inside.
There could be an issue with dirty contacts or the cartridge could be defective. It is likely that the printhead might need to be cleaned also.
I would follow this guide to see if you can resolve the issue with the cartridge. Click here
If you have a defective ink cartridge, it might be under warranty. To check the warranty on your ink supplies, go tohp.com/go/learnaboutsupplies, select your country/region, and then review the limited warranty information for your supplies. Contact HP.
Here's a document I suggest for maintaining the printer to resolve missing ink, in the HP Printers Click here
Here's more information on how ink is used: Ink Usage in Inkjet Printers.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

I did contact HP Support. They were less than supportive. They told me to buy a new printer. NOT THE LEVEL OF SUPPORT I WOULD HAVE EXPECTED FROM THIS BIG OF A COMPANY! I have three sets of cartridges, and they all cannot be bad. The fact that HP chose to build in a method to electronically mark cartridges as used is completely insane. Same goes for using Non-HP cartridges. Also, their software should allow you to still print, even though one or more of the cartridges have no ink, not just shut down the entire printer. This is simply a method to extract more money from the user. $81 US for new cartridges! Highway robbery. There should be a way to refill them....well there is, which I used to be able to do without issue. But now I am forced to buy a brand new printer.
Terrible support from a global company.
