HP Smart Tank 210 and Serial Number (CN36H2C161). One time, when i try to print in glossy photo paper 250gsm. Suddenly there was an error and the paper didn’t move and i immediately cancelled the print process. After a few minutes, i tried to print again but still the same. Then i intend to fix the printhead but it doesn’t go to the middle of the printer to get the printhead/catridge to check if there was problem. Please help me in this problem, thank you!

Hi @Aj552 ,

Thanks for sharing the details.

It sounds like your HP Smart Tank 210 is experiencing a paper jam or printhead carriage issue. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Clear a Paper Jam

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Remove Any Jammed Paper:
    • Open the front cover of the printer.
    • Carefully remove any jammed paper you see. Ensure there are no small pieces left inside.
    • Check the rear of the printer by opening the rear access door and removing any paper jammed there.
  3. Check the Paper Path:
    • Open the paper tray and check for any obstructions.
    • Ensure the paper is correctly loaded and not too tight against the paper guides.

Reset the Printer

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while it's still on.
  2. Wait for 60 Seconds: This will help reset any internal issues.
  3. Plug the Power Cord Back In: Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer. Check if the printhead carriage moves to the center when you open the front cover.

Manually Move the Printhead

  1. Turn Off the Printer: Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Open the Printer: Open the front cover and try to gently move the printhead carriage to the center manually. Do not force it if it doesn’t move smoothly.
  3. Check for Obstructions: Look for any obstructions or pieces of paper that might be blocking the printhead carriage.

Clean the Printhead

  1. Access the Printhead: If you can move the printhead carriage to the center, remove the printhead.
  2. Clean the Printhead: Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water to gently clean the nozzles and contacts of the printhead.
  3. Reinstall the Printhead: Reinsert the printhead and ensure it is securely in place.

Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Aj552 ,

Please check the next set of steps below.

Perform a Printhead Alignment

  1. Use Printer’s Control Panel: If the printer is responding, navigate to the settings menu and look for an option to align the printhead.
  2. Use HP Smart App: You can also use the HP Smart app on your smartphone or computer to initiate a printhead alignment.

Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Update Firmware: Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Use the HP Smart app or visit the HP website to check for firmware updates.

If the issue persists, it might be a hardware problem with the printhead carriage or another internal component. Contacting HP Support for further assistance or repair may be necessary.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
