HP Envy 4500 series printer.  error message  incompatible cartridge

I have done everything recommended including putting in new cartridges.  Nothing works

I have the exact same issue. Just started yesterday.  I installed brand new cartridges ordered from staples. Tried 2 different cartridges, same issue.  Please help, tried all troubleshooting tips. None worked.  Only thing that lets printer print is if I take out the black cartridge and only print with color cartridge.

Hi,

I tried all the advice I could find on your posts and on other posts that I searched. Nothing’s working.  
Sounds like I might need a new printer because I tried two brand new cartridges and both are giving the same error.
