Hi @MAJDAN,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are facing issues with the cartridge error.
Perform the following tasks in the order given. Use the printer after each task to see if the issue is resolved.
Check the cartridges
- Make sure the cartridge model numbers match your printer and country/region, and then check that they are correctly installed.
- Open the door or lid to the cartridge access area. Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.
- Check the cartridge labels and compare with the list of compatible cartridges for your printer in Which cartridges work with my HP printer?.
- If you saw the error after moving your printer from one country/region to another, you might not find cartridges with the number you used to buy. In some cases, you need to contact HP Support for a regionalization reset.
- If your printer is enrolled in Instant Ink, the cartridges should be marked Instant Ink. The numbers may be different from the cartridges available from retailers, but your printer is designed to work with Instant Ink cartridges. See Solve problems with Instant Ink cartridges and enrolled printers for more help with Instant Ink cartridge errors.
- If you have an HP+ printer, see Can't print on an HP+ or Instant Ink enrolled printer for more help.
- NOTE:
- HP+ printers require Original HP cartridges.
- Replace any incompatible cartridges. Go to the HP Store to purchase compatible cartridges.
- Make sure the label on the cartridge matches the label on the carriage.
- Make sure all the cartridges are firmly seated. If a cartridge is sticking out farther than the others, press it down until it snaps down.
- If the cartridge does not snap down, gently bend the tab away from the cartridge no more than 1.27 cm (0.5 in), and try again.
- Close the door or lid to the cartridge access area, and then follow the instructions to align the printer if prompted.
- Replace the problem cartridge
- Installing a new cartridge usually resolves cartridge errors.
- Obtain a replacement cartridge.
- Printer is enrolled in Instant Ink. Replacement cartridges are part of your subscription. If you have another Instant Ink cartridge on hand, install it. Otherwise, contact HP Instant Ink support for a new cartridge.
- Printer is NOT enrolled in Instant Ink. Go to the HP Store or a local retailer to find and purchase compatible supplies. HP recommends genuine HP cartridges.
- NOTE:
- If you have a defective HP cartridge, it might be under warranty. Go to About Original HP Cartridges for page yield and HP Limited Warranty information.
- Open the door or lid to the cartridge access area. Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.
- Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message, and then insert the new cartridge into the slot.
- Repeat these steps to replace any other cartridges indicated in the error message.
- Close the door or lid to the cartridge access area, and then follow any instructions to align the printer.
Service the printer
Service or replace your HP product if the issue persists after completing all the preceding steps.
Go to Contact HP Customer Support to schedule a product repair or replacement. If you are in Asia Pacific, you will be directed to a local service center in your area.
To confirm your warranty status, go to HP Product Warranty Check. Repair fees might apply for out-of-warranty products.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

None of that was helpful. I need help only with the black ink cartridge.
There is no "error message." Because I must do this online, I have to choose from the drop down menu the selection that most closely resembles my problem, rather than just talking to a person and telling them exactly the problem I'm having. Here's the deal. The 3 color cartridges work fine. The black ink cartridge does not. I checked the installation of the cartridge and it is seated correctly. There is no error message. When I check printer status everything shows as operational...except the black ink doesn't actually print. Yes, I used to have instant ink. I stopped that service and replaced the instant ink cartridges with "regular" cartridges ordered from HP through my HP smart app.
I had this problem in the past a few years ago. At the time, I was able to call HP and talk to a human and he told me how to fix it. I don't remember the procedure. Today, I could not find a phone number anywhere to talk to an actual human. My options were the chat, which is a bot and useless. Or this forum where I have to go through a series of wrong answers to get assistance. I have to dig through menus to find a problem close to what I'm trying to describe. I'm sure there is a history somewhere of people having a similar problem. The color ink works but not the blank ink. Assuming all cartridges are inserted correctly and assuming the correct part numbers are installed, what would be your next best guess to resolve this problem?

Hi @MAJDAN ,
We apologize for the inconvenience, but it seems that the issue persists even after attempting the troubleshooting steps mentioned above.
Unfortunately, there are no further actions we can take through this channel. I recommend reaching out to our phone support for further assistance.
