Hi @TonyJess,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're seeing a message on your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-In-One Printer saying "only one set of instant ink cartridge can be used in a printer" even after replacing the cartridge, there are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue.

  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve communication issues between the printer and the cartridges. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute or two, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new cartridge is installed correctly. Open the printer's cartridge access door, remove the new cartridge, and then reseat it properly, making sure it clicks into place.
  • Update Firmware: Outdated firmware can sometimes cause cartridge-related errors. Visit the HP website and check for any available firmware updates for your printer model. Download and install the latest firmware if available.
  • Check Cartridge Status: Check if the printer is recognizing the new cartridge. On the printer's control panel, navigate to the Ink or Cartridges menu and check the status of the cartridges. It should show that they are recognized and have ink.
  • Reinstall Cartridges: If the issue persists, try removing all the cartridges, turning off the printer, and unplugging it from the power source for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in, turn it on, and reinstall the cartridges.
  • Reset the Printer: A factory reset can sometimes resolve persistent issues. Be cautious, as this will erase some settings, and you may need to set up the printer again. To perform a factory reset, consult your printer's user manual or HP's support website for specific instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
