Microsoft Windows 11

I purchased a new black ink cartridge, put it in and it printed one job and then the ink error light came on and not it shows no ink in both cartridges.  I did a reset and was able to get it to print one job and now it won't print at all even after doing resets. It won't do the reset anymore just prints gibberish on the report.

Hi @JoCarol1,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding cartridge error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

This issue with your HP DeskJet 3755 could be due to a cartridge recognition error or faulty cartridge. Try these steps:

1. Check the Ink Cartridges

  1. Remove both cartridges and power off the printer.
  2. Inspect the gold contacts on the cartridges—wipe them gently with a lint-free cloth.
  3. Reinsert the cartridges and restart the printer.

2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the metal contacts inside the cartridge slot.
  3. Plug in and turn on the printer, then try printing again.

3. Reset the Printer (Hard Reset)

  1. With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  2. Wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
  3. Turn on the printer and try printing.

4. Check for Firmware Updates

  1. Go to HP Support and search for your printer model.
  2. Download and install any firmware updates available.
