After installing new HP cartridges on 6400 printer but only blinking E and O.

I understand your HP ENVY Pro 6400 All-in-One Printer is showing a blinking “E” and “0” after installing new cartridges. It typically indicates an ink cartridge error or cartridge recognition issue.

Steps to Resolve the Issue:

  1. Power Cycle the Printer
    • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the wall.
    • Wait 60 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and turn it on.
       
  2. Check the Cartridges
    • Open the cartridge access door.
    • Remove both cartridges.
    • Make sure all protective tape is removed.
    • Gently clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth.
    • Reinsert the cartridges firmly until they click into place.
       
  3. Use Genuine HP Cartridges
    • Ensure you are using original HP cartridges.
    • If using refilled or third-party cartridges, the printer may not recognize them.
       
  4. Reset the Printer
    • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
    • Wait 60 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and turn it on.
