Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

in the middle of printing a document , there is a warning message, 'low in ink', but it does not tell black or color' , is this normal.

It would help if it tells which one, or both, right?

Please help.  Thx.

Hi @e2700jt,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Resolve a low ink message or alert

  • If you see an ink alert but are satisfied with the print quality, you can clear the message and continue printing. HP recommends having replacement cartridges available to avoid printing delays.
  • Select OK on the printer control panel, computer, or HP Smart app to close the message and continue printing.
  • Check the ink level indicators on the printer or in the HP Smart app to see which ink cartridges are low.
  • Order a replacement cartridge if you do not have one on hand.
  • Purchase replacement cartridges and other supplies from the HP Store or local retailers.
  • If your printer is enrolled in Instant Ink and you do not have a replacement cartridge on hand, contact HP Instant Ink support.
