HP ENVY Pro 6455 All-in-One Printer

After talking with HP Support the end of June, they sent me a replacement 67 cartridge which I installed and have been printing with since.  The page count on July 6, 2023 when I installed that cartridge was 195.  My printer now is at 214 pages so I have printed a whole sum of 19 pages and it acts as if my black ink cartridge is already running low.  The print quality is streaky and faint.  From what I have read shouldn't these cartridges be lasting way longer than 19 pages?  Like closer to 120 pages?  What I've printed has not been heavy ink usage prints.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Envy 6455 low ink cartridge life and the print quality is streaky and faint. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

 

Let's perform a power drain: 

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Remove USB cable, if present.
  • Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
  • Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord (This is important) and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle

Update the printer firmware

My printer says that the firmware is updated already and has this installed:

I cannot currently do a print head cleaning as the option to do so is grayed out and not accessible.

I have now been able to do a first and second level print head cleaning.  There is no black ink on either of these test pages.  Please let me know how to proceed.
