Hi @GJC39,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here's a general guide,
- Turn on the Printer: Make sure your printer is turned on before you begin the cartridge replacement process.
- Open the Printer Cover: Lift or open the printer cover to access the ink cartridge compartment. Some printers may have a designated button or lever to open the cover.
- Wait for the Cartridge Holder to Move: Once the cover is open, the ink cartridge holder (or carriage) may move to the center of the printer to provide easy access.
- Identify the Empty Cartridge: The printer display or LED indicators may show which ink cartridge is empty or low. Alternatively, the ink cartridges themselves might have labels indicating their color.
- Remove the Old Cartridge: Press down on the empty cartridge slightly and then pull it out towards you. Some printers may have a latch or button that needs to be pressed to release the cartridge.
- Unpack and Install the New Cartridge: Take the new ink cartridge out of its packaging. Remove any protective tapes or covers. Insert the new cartridge into the slot, making sure it's securely in place.
- Secure the Cartridge: Once the new cartridge is in place, press down on it until you feel or hear a click, indicating that it's securely installed.
- Repeat for Other Cartridges: If you are replacing multiple cartridges, repeat the process for each one.
- Close the Printer Cover: Close the printer cover securely.
- Print a Test Page: Many printers have a test page function. Use it to ensure that the new cartridges are installed correctly and that the printer is functioning as expected.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
