@scushing927, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

To assist you better, is the printer enrolled in Instant Ink?

Are you using Instant Ink cartridges in the printer?

Have you checked your HP Instant Ink account page? Your Instant Ink account page will have notifications if there are any issues with the account or recent cartridge shipment, it will even provide solutions on how to fix the issue. You may log in to your HP Instant Ink account page from here.

If the suggested information can't be found, please send me a private message with your Instant Ink account details or you may also respond to the private message I've sent out and I'll help you out, accordingly. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accept as Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.

I'm having the same issue - my OfficeJet Pro 6978 has been showing this same error message for weeks.

HP Smart shows "Your HP Instant Ink Account Needs Attention.  There is a problem with your account.  Please visit HP Instant Ink for information."

My printer is enrolled in HP Instant Ink, and I checked the HP Instant Ink account page and didn't find any messages.  My payment settings are fine.

I recently received a new set of ink cartridges, and I'm able to print.

@CWinTX

This is an automated notification pushed from the Instant Ink server to all the Instant Ink accounts. If you are able to print fine and if the printer firmware is up to date, kindly ignore this message.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
