Hi @Alfi70,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3635 printer is returning blank pages despite having a new black cartridge, it could be due to several reasons. Here's a detailed step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Step-by-Step Troubleshooting Guide
1. Check Cartridge Installation
- Open the printer’s cartridge access door.Ensure that the black cartridge is properly installed in the correct slot.Make sure the protective tape covering the cartridge’s nozzle has been removed.Remove the black cartridge and then reinsert it, making sure it clicks into place.
2. Run Printer Diagnostic Tools
- Go to the printer’s control panel or use the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
- Navigate to the printer’s maintenance or tools menu and select the option to print a test page or a diagnostic page.
- On the printer’s control panel or in the HP Smart app, check the ink levels to ensure the new cartridge is recognized and shows an adequate ink level.
3. Clean the Printhead
- Open the HP printer software on your computer.Go to the maintenance section and select the option to clean the printhead.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the printhead cleaning process. If the software cleaning doesn’t work, you can manually clean the printhead. Refer to the printer’s manual for detailed instructions on how to do this.
4. Update Printer Firmware
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.Enter your printer model number and download the latest firmware update.Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update on your printer.
5. Perform a Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer.Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.Wait for at least 60 seconds.Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
6. Check for Paper and Print Settings
- Ensure that you are using the correct type of paper for printing.Check that the paper is loaded properly and not causing any jams. Verify that the print settings on your computer or mobile device are correctly set to print in black ink.Make sure you are not printing in a mode that only uses the color cartridge.
7. Test with Another Cartridge:
- If the problem persists, try replacing the black cartridge with another new one. It’s possible the cartridge you installed is defective.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
