@999cathy, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

It sounds like you're dealing with a frustrating issue. The "problem with the supply system" message can occur even after you've replaced the cartridges, and it can be related to a few different things. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

Restart the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
  3. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  4. Wait for 60 seconds and connect the power cord back in.
  5. Turn on the printer.

Check the Cartridge Installation:

Make sure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed. Sometimes, if a cartridge isn't fully seated, the printer can give an error.

Double-check that you've removed any protective plastic or tape from the cartridges.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

The metal contacts on both the cartridge and the printer can get dirty or clogged. Gently clean these contacts using a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water. Let it dry before re-inserting the cartridges.

Check for Obstructions:

Make sure there’s no debris or paper stuck in the printer that might be interfering with the ink supply system. Even small bits of paper can cause errors.

Run HP Smart:

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
