Hi @scott41c,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Verify You Are Using the Correct Refill Kit

Ensure you are using an HP Neverstop Laser Toner Reload Kit designed specifically for your printer model.

Check for Packaging Removal

  1. Make sure you removed all packaging materials from the refill kit before attempting to load it into the printer.
  2. Inspect the refill kit for any remaining protective covers or seals that might block its insertion.

Loading the Refill Cartridge Properly

Follow these steps to ensure proper loading of the refill cartridge:

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  2. Locate the reload port on the printer.
  3. Insert the toner reload kit firmly into the reload port.
  4. Rotate the kit as instructed until it locks into place.
  5. Turn the kit handle to release the toner into the printer.

Inspect the Reload Port

Ensure the reload port on the printer is not blocked or damaged.

  1. Check the port for any obstructions or debris.
  2. Ensure the port opens smoothly and there are no broken plastic pieces.

Reset the Printer

Performing a reset can help:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord for about 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer on.
  4. Attempt to reload the toner cartridge again.
