HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer

My HP Envy Photo 6255 printer all of a sudden won't print in color.  Just from one day to the other it stopped.  I just replaced the cartridges last week.

If your HP ENVY Photo 6255 printer stopped printing in color suddenly, there are a few steps you can take to diagnose and resolve the issue:

 

Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that both the color and black cartridges are installed correctly. Open the ink cartridge access door and make sure the cartridges are properly seated.

Verify Ink Levels: Sometimes issues arise if the ink levels are critically low. Check the ink levels through your printer's software or the control panel.

Print a Test Page: Print a test page to determine if the printer is able to utilize all colors correctly. This can often help identify if a particular color is not printing.

Run Printer Maintenance: Use the printer’s maintenance tools. Run a nozzle check and cleaning cycle to ensure there are no clogs in the ink pathways. This process often resolves minor printing issues.

Update Printer Software: Ensure that the printer firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP Support website to download any newly available updates.

Check Printer Settings: Sometimes the issue might be due to incorrect printer settings:

  • Ensure that you have not inadvertently set the printer to print in grayscale.
  • Verify the print settings in the application you are using.
