Hi @sheilaerd,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP Envy Inspire printer is cutting off some lines or printing only half of the line, it can be frustrating. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
1. Check Printer Settings
- Ensure that the paper size and type settings in the printer driver match the paper loaded in the printer.
- Check the print quality settings in the printer driver to ensure they are set appropriately for the type of document you are printing.
2. Clean Print Heads
- Run the printer's built-in cleaning utility to clean the print heads. This can help remove any clogs or dried ink that may be causing the issue.
- Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to run the cleaning utility.
3. Align Print Heads
- Aligning the print heads can help ensure that the printer is depositing ink accurately on the page.
- Look for the print head alignment option in your printer's settings or utility menu and follow the on-screen instructions to align the print heads.
4. Check for Firmware Updates
- Check for any available firmware updates for your printer on the HP support website.
- Download and install any updates following the provided instructions. Firmware updates can sometimes address printing issues.
5. Replace Cartridges
- If the print quality issues persist after cleaning the print heads, consider replacing the ink cartridges.
- Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges compatible with your printer model.
- Install the new cartridges following the manufacturer's instructions.
6. Use High-Quality Paper
- Low-quality or incompatible paper can sometimes cause printing issues.
- Use high-quality, recommended paper for your printer to see if it improves the print quality.
7. Print a Test Page
- Print a test page to see if the issue persists. This can help you determine if the problem is specific to certain documents or if it occurs with all print jobs.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
