HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

New firmware is not accepting non-HP cartridges.

[Content Removed] I can't find instructions on how to disable the cartridge protection.

That option appears to have been deleted from the "Settings".

Cartridge protection has nothing to do with using non-HP supplies.

All instructions on web, including "justanswer" supposed pros, say to disable cartridge protection.

I have used both HP and non-HP cartridges for years.

As far as I can tell the latest firmware update disallows non-HP cartridges.

This is illegal.

Tell me how to force the 7740 to use non-HP cartridges.

You will need to get an older printer firmware and run a downgrade. Forum rules don't allow more detailed information regarding downgrade, but you can find all on google.

HP Firmware is giving me an error when trying to use an HP Cartridge in my HP 7740.

Support said it was because my HP INK CARTRIDGE is 'out of warranty'.

Maybe this action by HP is going too far?
