I installed a brand new HP Black Ink Cartridge #61XL (as I have done many times the past 3 years) and I got an error message telling me that the cartridge was incompatible with the printer. My printer won't print at all. I have tried everything, and researched everything, I can think of for the past 4 days. I can't find a number for customer service. Please can someone help me figure this out. I'm at my wits end. My next step will be to buy a different printer... it won't be an HP, despite having only used HP's for decades.

I understand you are getting this error on the printer screen. If you have already performed the steps from the document Incompatible Cartridge Errors: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04100778 and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.
