I just unwrapped and installed a new black ink cartridge in my HP Envy Photo 7855.  Immediately it put up an error message that the cartridge could not communicate with the printer.  I have reinstalled it several times and cleaned the contacts, and unplugged and replugged the printer.  Still not working.

Perform the steps from this document, if you are getting cartridge errors on HP genuine ink cartridges. 

Also, update the firmware
