Hi @HBTruck94,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 6458e printer is printing only half of the letters, it could be due to various reasons. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to resolve the issue.

  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. Visit the HP official website, search for your printer model, and download any available firmware updates.
  • Alignment and Calibration: Run a print head alignment and calibration on your printer. This can often be done through the printer's control panel or the HP printer software on your computer.
  • Inspect and Clean the Printhead: Open the printer lid and check the printhead for any dust, debris, or dried ink. If you notice any, clean the printhead according to the printer's manual or guidelines. Be careful not to touch the nozzles with your fingers.
  • Check Paper Settings: Make sure that you are using the correct type and size of paper according to the printer's specifications. Incorrect paper settings may result in printing issues.
  • Print Quality Settings: Check the print quality settings in your print preferences. Ensure that you have selected the appropriate quality settings for your print job. Sometimes, lower-quality settings can cause printing problems.
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the HP website and download the most recent drivers for your specific printer model.
  • Test with Different Software: Try printing from a different software application. This can help determine if the issue is specific to one program or if it's a more general problem.
  • Inspect Ink Cartridges: Check the ink cartridges for any issues. Ensure that they are properly installed, and there is sufficient ink. If the ink levels are low, consider replacing the cartridges.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
