HP DeskJet 3632 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just unboxed and connected a new printer.  Once it cycles on, the printer sounds like it's printer but there is nothing on the paper.  I've uninstalled and installed the printer cartridges 4 times, to no avail.

Please advise

@ErichV6, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're having trouble with your new HP DeskJet 3632 All-in-One Printer, the paper advances, but nothing prints. Let’s walk through some steps to get this resolved.

Check the Ink Cartridges

Even though you've reinstalled them, let's ensure:

  • The protective plastic tape on the ink cartridges has been removed. This is a common issue with new setups.
  • The cartridges are genuine HP and properly seated.

Run a Printer Self-Test

This helps determine if the issue is with the printer hardware or the connection/software.

To print a self-test page:

  • Press and hold the Power button.
  • While holding it, press the Cancel (X) button once, then the Resume (Color) button once.
  • Release the Power button.

If the self-test page prints correctly, the printer hardware is fine.

Check Ink Levels

Low or empty cartridges can cause blank pages.

  • Open the HP Smart app or go to Devices and Printers > Right-click your printer > Printer Properties > Services > Estimated Ink Levels.

Align the Printer

Misaligned cartridges can also cause blank prints.

  • Use the HP Smart app to run an alignment.

Update or Reinstall the Printer Driver

Sometimes, the driver may not be correctly installed.

  • Uninstall the printer from Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Download and install the latest driver from the official HP site: Official HP® Support

Try a Different Document or Application

Sometimes, the issue is with the file or app you're printing from. Try printing a test page from Notepad or Word.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
