@myyhml, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP or refilled cartridges. HP recommends using genuine HP ink or toner supplies available from the HP Store. Go to HP Anti Counterfeiting and Fraud Program for more information on using authentic HP cartridges.
If the error displays with genuine HP cartridges, select No, OK, or Continue. If the print job completes, the issue is resolved but you might need to dismiss the message every time you print until the cartridges are depleted. Otherwise continue with these steps to resolve the issue.
Reset the printer
Reset the printer to recover from printer errors or failures.
If your printer has a rechargeable battery, remove it.
Press the power button to turn off the printer. If the printer does not turn off, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the power source.
Wait 60 seconds.
Connect the power cord directly to a wall outlet and to the printer.
Turn on the printer to complete the reset.
Replace the problem cartridge
Installing a new cartridge usually resolves cartridge errors.
Obtain a replacement cartridge.
Printer is enrolled in Instant Ink. Replacement cartridges are part of your subscription. If you have another Instant Ink cartridge on hand, install it. Otherwise, contact HP Instant Ink support for a new cartridge.
Printer is NOT enrolled in Instant Ink. Go to the HP Store or a local retailer to find and purchase compatible supplies. HP recommends genuine HP cartridges.
Open the door or lid to the cartridge access area. Wait until the carriage stops moving before continuing.
Remove the cartridge indicated in the error message, and then insert the new cartridge into the slot.
Repeat these steps to replace any other cartridges indicated in the error message.
Close the door or lid to the cartridge access area, and then follow any instructions to align the printer.
I hope this helps.
Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.
Take care and have a good day.

I do not understand the response. Why does HP care which cartridge I use on my HP 9015? My Toyota does not force me to use Toyota oil only otherwise the car will not run. My Maytag washer was repaired with Non-OEM part by the repair person about 10 months ago and runs just fine. You can recommend a part or even nullify a warranty but not allowing the printer to run is just unacceptable. We have 4 printers who of which 2 are non-HP (Epson). We are very happy with Epson quality and support and the quality of print is very good while using non-Epson ink. I can assure you that as we upgrade the printers they WILL NO BE HP. We can not be forced to pay high HP ink prices or we will look for other choices. You are hurting your loyal users and in turn you are damaging your reputation and going to hurt future business. I am very frustrated as I you have upgraded the firmware to block me out of my choices. Short term money grab - Long term loss of customer base and loyalty.
