2700 printer.

I am not very literate in computers and am very slow when it comes to understanding and typing to figure out what's going on. Right now, I cannot print anything on my printer. I replaced the color cartridge, and I replaced the black cartridge, and it won't do anything. I wonder if there's someone there that's very patient that might be able to walk me through the steps to take a look at it. Thank you, Doreen Johnson.

Hi @DorCol,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP 2700 printer is not printing even after replacing the color and black cartridges. Here are some steps you can follow to try to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connection:

  • Make sure the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB cable or is connected to the same network if it’s a wireless printer.
  • Check the printer status on your computer to ensure it is set as the default printer and is online.

Perform a Power Cycle:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait about 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve minor issues.

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look for any error messages on the printer's display or on your computer screen, which might provide a clue as to the problem.

Inspect Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure the cartridges are correctly installed and are compatible with your printer model.
  • Check for any protective tape on the cartridges that may need to be removed.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the official HP Support website to download drivers if needed.

Test a Printer Self-Test Page:

  • Attempt to print a self-test page directly from the printer. Refer to your printer’s manual for directions on how to do this. This can help determine if the issue is with the printer or communication with the computer.

Look for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions that may be causing the issue.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
