macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi in there!!! my HP officepro 9010 wont print in color, I print with different printers and all of them work perfect, I have made the checking and diagnostics and all of them come out in colour. The cartriges are full and new.

In print precerences I cant find a menu where I could see if is set on B&W or not. Tried to print with Photoshop, View, etc, already in the preview show me the desing in B&W.  I jave tried in different color Modes, RGB, CMYK color, Lab Color, etc, but no chance!! It may be something I not able to see or check.

Could You please give a tip ?

Best Regards

Hi @coloromystic,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you've already done some troubleshooting steps, but let's go through a few more detailed checks to see if we can resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 not printing in color on MacOS 10.13 High Sierra:

Step 1: Check Printer Preferences

Open System Preferences: Click on the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen and select "System Preferences."

Printers & Scanners: Click on "Printers & Scanners" or "Print & Fax."

Select Your Printer: In the left-hand pane, select your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010.

Options & Supplies: There should be a button labeled "Options & Supplies" or "Open Print Queue...". Click on it.

Printer Features: Look for a tab or section labeled something like "Printer Features," "Device Settings," or "Color Options."

Color Settings: Ensure that the printer is not set to "Black & White" or "Grayscale." If there is such an option, change it to "Color" or "Auto."

Step 2: Check Application Settings (e.g., Photoshop)

Since you mentioned trying different applications like Photoshop and the issue persists, let's check within Photoshop:

Open Photoshop: Launch Photoshop and open the document you want to print.

Print Dialog: Go to File > Print to open the Print dialog box.

Color Settings: Look for a setting in the Print dialog box that specifies color options. It may be under a section like "Color Management" or "Output."

Color Handling: Make sure it's set to "Let Photoshop Determine Colors" or "Printer Manages Colors." Avoid selecting "Convert to Grayscale" or similar options.

Preview: Check the preview in the Print dialog box to ensure the document appears in color.

Step 3: Update Printer Drivers  Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 All-in-One Printer series

Sometimes, outdated printer drivers can cause issues with color printing. To update them:

System Preferences: Go back to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.

Remove Printer: Remove your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 by selecting it and clicking the "-" (minus) button.

Re-add Printer: Click the "+" button to add the printer again. MacOS should automatically detect and install the latest drivers. Make sure to choose the correct model if prompted.

Step 4: Test with a Different Computer

If possible, try printing from a different computer to the HP OfficeJet Pro 9010. This will help determine if the issue is specific to your MacOS setup or if it's a problem with the printer itself.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
