Bought the remanufactured ink cartridge from Wal-Mart a couple of months ago and cannot get a refund because I purchased it more than 30 days ago. Now I have both a black and color 67XL printer cartridges that my printer won't recognize. Can you help me?

Hi @Larry624,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
I can imagine how disappointing it must feel to have your printer reject cartridges you thoughtfully purchased, especially when the return window has passed. Let’s walk through this together.
Here’s what you can do:
- Power Reset the Printer
- Turn the printer on
- Unplug the power cord from the back while it’s still on
- Unplug from the wall and wait 60 seconds
- Plug it back directly into a wall outlet (not a surge protector)
- Turn the printer back on
- Reseat the Cartridges
- Open the cartridge access door
- Remove both cartridges
- Gently clean the copper-colored contacts with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water
- Let them dry completely
- Reinsert the cartridges firmly until they click into place
- Check for Protective Tape
- Ensure all packaging materials and tape have been removed from the cartridges
- Ensure all packaging materials and tape have been removed from the cartridges
- Update Printer Firmware
- Visit the HP Software & Driver Downloads page
- Enter your printer model and install the latest firmware
- Try Single-Cartridge Mode
- Remove one cartridge and see if the printer operates with just the other. This can help identify which cartridge is causing the issue.

- Use Genuine HP Ink
- If the issue persists, we recommend switching to Search | HP® Official Store for optimal compatibility and performance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
