I was given a hp deskjet 9012e by a friend and it says to use the original cartridges which I do not have. I bought new cartridges which it is not recognizing and it is not letting me go any further in the install process. Does anyone know how I can get around this? Thank you in advance. Robin

Hi,
Which cartridges have you bought? is it HP 962 ink cartridges? can you see 962 listed on the label within the cartridge access door, or any other cartridge number?
What EXACT error is listed on the screen? be sure to include the exact wording or a a picture as there might be several possible reasons for a such, as a requirement to use the Setup cartridges included in the box, which explained below:
