Hi @Vicky142 ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP ENVY 6400e printer is going through the motions but not printing anything on paper, there are several potential reasons for this issue. Here are troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check Ink Levels: Ensure that there is enough ink in the cartridges. Low or empty ink cartridges can lead to blank pages. Check the ink levels through your printer's control panel or the HP Smart app.

Run Print Quality Diagnostic: Most printers have a print quality diagnostic or cleaning function. Use this feature to clean the printheads and check for any issues. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a printhead cleaning.

Align the Printheads: Some printers require periodic printhead alignment. Check your printer's manual for instructions on how to align the printheads. This can help ensure proper ink distribution.

Inspect Paper and Print Settings: Make sure you are using the correct type and size of paper that is supported by your printer. Additionally, check the print settings on your computer to ensure they match the paper type and size.

Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed. Outdated or corrupted drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the official HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, conflicts with other software or drivers on your computer can affect the printing process. Try printing from a different computer or disable unnecessary background applications to see if the issue persists.

Perform a Hard Reset: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Inspect for Paper Jams: Even if the printer appears to be going through the motions, there may be a paper jam that is not immediately apparent. Open the printer and carefully check for any paper jams or obstructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.-
