Photosmart c4200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was given a HP Photosmart c4200 by my husbands family. I went to print and realized it was not printing some of the color that were supposed to be printing. I ordered brand  new HP 75 and 74 ink cartridges and installed them. the messaged bored now tells me the the "ink cartridges are missing or not detectable" or " not compatible". i have been through the virtual assistant guided troubleshooting without any luck. i am hoping to see if anyone else has any insight on what i can do or try/ ,

I'd be happy to assist you with the ink cartridge issue.

 

If you insert your old ink, do you still get the error message?
