Printed colour images are overexposed.  I have ran all the cleaning and alignment tools, no difference.

True - there are limitations to editing.

The main challenge is having to imagine what the print is going to look like when you don't have the printed image.

True, too, what you see on a backlit display (computer screen) does not represent how a print will look on paper.

Display and print might get close -- it takes professional equipment to triage and calibrate display-to-print on paper.

Finally,

The tools available depend on the Operating System / version you are running on your Device (computer, tablet, phone).

HP Smart provides some simple editing tools that are available in Windows and Mobile.
