Hi @qdjones,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your printer might be experiencing some issues with the color balance or the ink cartridges. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure the new ink cartridge is properly installed and that it has enough ink. Sometimes cartridges can be improperly seated, causing issues with printing.
- Run Printer Maintenance: Most printers have a maintenance or calibration function in their settings menu. Running a maintenance cycle might help resolve any issues with color balance.
- Clean Print Heads: Print heads can become clogged with dried ink over time, especially if the printer hasn't been used for a while or if the ink ran completely dry. Your printer's manual should have instructions on how to clean the print heads.
- Check Color Settings: Ensure that your printer's color settings are correct. Sometimes, settings like "Grayscale" or "Black and White" can cause unexpected color outputs.
- Try Different Paper: Sometimes the type or quality of paper can affect printing results. Try using a different type of paper to see if that makes a difference.
- Update Printer Drivers: Make sure your printer drivers are up to date. Sometimes outdated drivers can cause printing issues.
By going through these steps, you should hopefully be able to resolve the issue with your printer printing in pink only.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
