i bought a preowned hp envy 5530 and i cant get it to print anything on paper. it willl go through the process of feeding paper in and "printing" but the page is blank. the person i bought it from says the ink cartriges were bought last month and theyre hardly used. ive never owned a printer before so i have no idea how to fix it. do i just need new ink? ive cleaned the print heads both with the self cleaning and manually but still nothing. anything helps.

Hi @leviar000,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for sharing that. Since you've already tried both the built-in printhead cleaning and manual cleaning, but the printer still feeds paper and produces only blank pages, the next important step is to visually inspect the ink cartridges.
📸 Take a clear photo of both ink cartridges (preferably showing:
- The front with the labels
- The copper contacts and nozzles underneath)
This helps determine:
- If they are authentic HP cartridges
- If they are damaged, dry, or improperly installed
- Whether the protective plastic strip/tab was removed (if new)
Once I see the photo, I can better guide you on whether:
- You just need to replace the ink,
- The cartridges aren't recognized or have dried out.
- Or there may be a deeper hardware issue.
Could you upload that photo now?
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
