We buy our 201x print cartridges from Quill, all cartridges have been purchased within the last year. We recently had an issue with one of the magenta cartridges dotting ink all over the printed paper, even when using only black ink. We assumed it was a defective print cartridge, so we tried to get a replacement from Quill, and they refused. We then started looking into the warranty that HP offers on their defective print cartridges, and come to find we are being sent cartridges that have a warranty end date from as early as 2015. So we are unable to get a replacement within the warranty guidelines because we were being sent very old cartridges, even though they all have been purchased recently. When we addressed this with Quill, they said they'd email HP, but didn't have any solution for us. I'm having extreme issues trying to find someone to contact to remedy this issue. As a business we use a lot of these print cartridges, and they are not cheap. Everyone we have in our possession is past it's warranty end date, even the ones we purchased last month.

The date on the HP toner cartridge is not the warranty end or expiration date.

What does the date represent then?

https://support.hp.com/ie-en/document/ish_2453821-1839525-16 < This page seems to say that it is the warranty end date. I know they technically do not expire, I am concerned with the warranty end date as we are receiving toner cartridges dated in 2015 when we purchased them in 2022. The cartridge was defective, so we tried to get it replaced as per warranty guidelines, and can not because the warranty end date is passed. My question is why we are receiving defective products from HP which are passed their warranty end date, when we just purchased them. When we purchase them, we are under the assumption they are brand new cartridges, they are packaged as such.

The link you provided is for inkjet cartridges, not a toner cartridge which is different.

So you're saying HP toner cartridges have no warranty? My question is why we are be sent a toner cartridge dated 2015, if you're saying that is the manufacture date, that still means we're being sent grossly old products, which is unacceptable.

HP Recommended

HP toner cartridges have no warranty end date printed or stamped.

If the seller has old stock from 2015. you need to ask the seller for an explanation.

Thank you.

Can you tell me what the date stamped on the cartridge represents then?

I have provided you with a link for the HP toner warranty, you can find the information you need to know on that link.

The link you provide states: "The date of manufacture included on some toner cartridge boxes is intended for HP internal processes and may be required to comply with regulatory standards in certain countries. The date of manufacture is not an expiration date or "use before" date." This date is not on the box, it is stamped on the cartridge.
