Hi @LLLindy,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 printer is not recognizing new blue (cyan) print cartridges despite them being genuine HP products. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

Check for Protective Tape: Make sure that any protective tape on the cartridge has been removed. This tape is typically present on new cartridges.

Inspect Cartridges and Printer Contacts:

  • Remove the cartridges and inspect them to ensure there is no damage or debris.
  • Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridges with a lint-free cloth. Similarly, clean the contacts inside the cartridge slot in the printer.

Reinstall the Cartridges:

  • Re-insert the cartridges into their respective slots. Ensure they click into place firmly.

Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer is running the latest firmware. Official HP® Support, find your printer model, and download the latest firmware if available.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Check for Error Messages: Ensure that there are no specific error messages on the printer's display that could indicate another issue.

Run a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Access your printer’s control panel menu and find the tool or option for troubleshooting or diagnostics related to ink cartridges.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
