officer jet pro 8025.   How do it print with non-hp cartridges. i.e.   how do it deactivate cartridge protection?

The use of non-HP chip cartridges is not supported.

 

Read the provided Information in the Dynamic Security document and in the Firmware Update Description.

No, there is no way to "go back" to the day when you were getting away with the non-HP cartridge.

This software tool will help you update your printer to the latest firmware. Please refer to Enhancement/Fixes for more detail about the firmware update.

Reminder: Dynamic security-enabled printer. This Firmware includes dynamic security measures, which are used to block cartridges using a non-HP chip or modified or non-HP electronic circuitry. The printer is intended to work only with new or reused cartridges that have a new or reused HP chip or circuitry. I am not "trying to get away with anything. I was in your program a year. I am 75  years old and have spent the last hour resetting my printer and although I have HP cartridges in it, I can't print out the tax return I need tonite. Please get your paws off of my printer and let me print my docs and don't send me any more cartridges!
