Hi @Aldoamachado

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It’s frustrating when a printer refuses to recognize cartridges, especially after cleaning and reinstalling drivers. Since your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 3546 e-All-in-One Printer is still having issues, here are some additional troubleshooting steps:

Step 1: Check Cartridge Compatibility

  • Ensure the cartridges are genuine HP ink and compatible with your printer model.
  • If using third-party cartridges, they may not be recognized correctly.

Step 2: Clean the Ink Cartridge Contacts

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges and inspect the metal contacts.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the contacts.
  4. Let them dry completely, then reinstall the cartridges.

Step 3: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it for 60 seconds.
  2. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds before plugging it back in.
  3. Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

Step 4: Perform a Printhead Cleaning

  1. Open HP Smart or the printer’s control panel.
  2. Navigate to Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead.
  3. Run the cleaning cycle multiple times if needed.

Step 5: Update Printer Firmware

  • HP regularly releases firmware updates that fix ink recognition issues.
  • Follow HP’s official guide to update firmware here.

Step 6: Try a Different Cartridge

  • If possible, test a brand-new HP cartridge to rule out a defective batch.

Let me know if any of these steps help!
