Hi @foreverme

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your HP PSC 1410 printer is having issues with color printing after you replaced the cartridges. Only certain colors (yellow, blue, green, and deep green) are coming out correctly, while others are not printing as expected. This could be due to a few different issues, such as incorrect cartridge installation, clogged printheads, or cartridge alignment problems.

Here are some steps you can follow to try to fix the problem:

1. Check the Cartridge Installation

Ensure that the new cartridges are installed correctly. Even if they are the correct type and properly inserted, it's worth double-checking:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the printer cover and carefully remove the ink cartridges.
  • Check for protective tape on the new cartridges. Sometimes, new cartridges come with protective tape that needs to be removed before installation. Make sure the tape is removed.
  • Reinstall the cartridges, ensuring they are properly seated in the correct color slots.

2. Run a Printer Diagnostic

The HP PSC 1410 has a built-in diagnostic tool that can help identify printing issues. Here’s how you can run it:

  • Turn on the printer and ensure it is connected to your computer.
  • Print a test page by going to the Control Panel > Devices and Printers on your computer, right-clicking on the HP PSC 1410, and selecting Print a Test Page.
  • If the test page shows missing colors or any strange color behavior, it indicates a problem with the printhead or the ink cartridges.

3. Clean the Printhead

If your printer has a clogged printhead, it can cause certain colors not to print. Try cleaning the printhead using the printer's software:

  • Open the HP Solution Center or HP Printer Assistant (if installed).
  • Select Tools or Printer Maintenance.
  • Look for the option to Clean the Printhead and follow the instructions.
  • If your printer doesn’t have these options, you can manually clean the printhead by gently wiping the nozzles with a clean cloth soaked in distilled water. Be careful not to touch any electrical components.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
