Hi @TomGrant,

May I know the operating system windows or Mac OS?

Since when are you facing this issue

Have you made any changes on your printer post that this issue raised and if you have observed any light blinking or any error code on the display?

May I know if you are using genuine cartridges

Could you please elaborate on the issue?

I understand you are facing a printhead problem with your HP Officejet Pro 6830 can occur for various reasons, including clogs, alignment issues, or hardware failure. Follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Step 1: Check the Printer Message

  1. If the printer displays a specific error message, take note of it (e.g., "Printhead missing," "Printhead failure").
  2. Restart the printer to see if the error clears.

Step 2: Reseat the Printhead

  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Open the access door to the printhead and cartridge area.
  3. Carefully remove the printhead and cartridges.
  4. Inspect for visible damage, debris, or dried ink.
  5. Reinsert the printhead firmly and reinstall the cartridges.
  6. Close the access door, reconnect the power, and turn on the printer.

Step 3: Clean the Printhead

If reseating doesn’t work:

  1. Open the HP Smart app or printer software on your computer.
  2. Look for a "Clean Printhead" option under Printer Maintenance or Tools.
  3. Run the cleaning process to clear clogs.

Step 4: Update Firmware

  1. Go to HP Support.
  2. Download and install the latest firmware for your printer model.

Step 5: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
