I replaced the toner with an original HP ; the printer has stopped working, the exclamation mark constantly flashes on the display and a message appears from Hp Smart that literally says "a problem has occurred and you will not be able to print until the problem is solved. Access your Hp account to check the status." The toner is correctly recognized by direct printing from the printer and reported as load. Thanks to those who can help me

Hi @stefano761,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the printer's firmware or software that's causing it to display the exclamation mark and prevent printing. Here's what you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for a few minutes, then plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary issues.

2. Check Toner Installation

  • Ensure that the toner cartridge is properly installed in the printer.
  • Remove the toner cartridge and reinstall it, making sure it clicks into place securely.

3. Update Printer Firmware

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP M100w printer.
  • Visit the HP Support website and download/install any available updates following the provided instructions.

4. Reset Printer

  • Perform a reset on your printer to restore it to its factory default settings.
  • Consult your printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to perform a reset.

5. Check Printer Connection

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer or network.
  • Verify the connection cables and try using a different USB port or network connection if possible.

6. Check for Paper Jams

  • Open the printer's covers and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Remove any stuck paper carefully to clear the paper path.

7. Update HP Smart App

  • If you're receiving an error message through the HP Smart app, make sure the app is up to date.
  • Check for updates in your app store and install any available updates for the HP Smart app.

8. Check HP Account Status

  • Log in to your HP account to check if there are any notifications or alerts related to your printer's status.
  • Address any issues or messages displayed in your HP account dashboard.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
