@untechie1, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To insert ink cartridges into your HP ENVY 6155e printer, you'll need to move the cartridge carrier (also called the printhead carriage) into the correct position. Here's how you can do that safely:

Steps to Move the Cartridge Carrier for Insertion:

Power On the Printer
Make sure your printer is turned on. The carriage will not move if the printer is off.

Open the Ink Cartridge Access Door

  • Lift the scanner lid or the top cover of the printer.
  • Wait a few seconds. The cartridge carrier should automatically move to the center or accessible position.

Wait for the Carrier to Stop Moving

  • Do not try to force the carriage manually.
  • Once it stops moving and is idle, you can proceed to insert the cartridges.

Insert the Ink Cartridges

  • Remove the new cartridge from its packaging.
  • Hold it by the sides with the nozzles toward the printer.
  • Insert it into the correct slot (black on the right, tri-color on the left) and push it in until it clicks into place.

Close the Access Door

  • Lower the scanner lid or top cover.
  • The printer may align the cartridges automatically.

 Tips:

  • If the carriage does not move, try turning the printer off and on again.
  • Make sure there are no paper jams or obstructions inside the printer.
  • Never force the carriage by hand—it can damage the mechanism.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
