The top line of documents is being cut off so that only the bottom half of letters appear.
It appears as though the printer is printing too high on the page (the bottom margin is larger than it should be).
It doesn't matter what size paper I set it to. Changing the "size" of the paper only means the cut-off line is lower or higher on the page. The printer is physically capable of printing there.
I have done a reset (unplugged it, pressed the button for 30 seconds, plugged it back in, but the issue hasn't resolved. I've also run an alignment.

Try / Consider
The printer settings might be set / left to a different Shortcut / paper size-type in Printing Preferences
Example
Set the Preferences – Windows
NOTES
- This section is not applicable to Mobile Printing.
- Access to the complete Printer Preferences requires having installed the Full Driver printer software.
- Printing Preferences are available directly from the driver.
- Printing Envelopes? See NOTE
Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers
Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences
- When called from within printing software / applications, Printing Preferences might be called "Printer Properties" / "Shortcuts" / “More Settings” / “Properties” / "Printer Setup" or similar.
- No Size? If the size of the Paper Size is not included in the Drop-down list, consider / try: Create a Custom Paper Size Form. Reference: HP Printers - Creating Custom Paper Sizes
NOTE >> Word > Mailings > Envelopes :: Preferences and Envelopes
Select / leave Printing Preferences Shortcut to "Everyday Printing" or something equally benign.
