WE recently purchased cartridges for the page Pro 477 DW, however the printer is not accepting the black cartridges. We went and purchase another set of cartridges thinking that the ink was bad. we got the same error message when the black cartridge is installed. "Cartridge Depleted" or problem with printing subsystem" all other cartridges work but the 972A black is not recognised by printing, This is the first time we are changing the cartridges.

How can we resolve this.

Hello,

Hope you are well,  please check the cartridge chipset look exactly the same as the one for the color cartridges and make sure the cartridge expiration date is not overdue. If cartridge is original and is still inside the expiration time period, please perform a firmware update to the printer.   Here is a link to get the firmware file.  click here

Download the .ful2 firmware file and save into your desktop.

If you have the printer connected thru network, please get the printer IP address and type that into the URL web browser URL bar, that will take you with the embedded web server; go to the troubleshooting option, then select firmware upgrade in the left pane options, and go to the Install new firmware and click the choose file and select the firmware file, previously downloaded and then click install and wait for the process to finish.
