Hi @JimT5860,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your printer is producing inaccurate colors, particularly not printing blue even with a new cartridge, here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Remove and Reinsert the Cartridge: Make sure the color cartridge is seated properly in its slot.
  • Inspect for Protective Tape: Ensure that any protective tape or seals have been removed from the new cartridge.

2. Clean the Printhead

  • Run Printhead Cleaning: Most HP printers have a built-in cleaning utility. Access this via the printer’s control panel:
    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Find Printer Maintenance or Tools.
    3. Select Clean Printhead.

3. Print a Test Page

  • Print a test page to check the quality and see which colors are missing:
    • This can usually be done from the printer settings or control panel.

4. Check Ink Levels

  • Even if the cartridge is new, double-check the ink levels through the printer’s menu or software on your computer.

5. Adjust Color Settings

  • Check Color Management Settings: Ensure your color settings in the print dialog are set to "Color" and not "Grayscale".
  • Update Printer Drivers: Ensure your printer drivers are up to date. Visit the HP support website for the latest drivers.

6. Print Using Different Software

  • Sometimes the issue might be with the software you're using to print. Try printing from a different application (e.g., a PDF viewer) to see if the issue persists.

7. Reset Printer Settings

  • If issues continue, consider resetting the printer to factory defaults:
    1. Navigate to Settings > Printer Maintenance or Setup.
    2. Look for an option to Restore Factory Defaults.

8. Check for Software Conflicts

  • If you have multiple printer drivers installed, ensure that the correct one is set as default.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
